Keep Your Pets Hydrated The Eco Friendly Way

We all know it is important to drink enough water during the hotter summer months, but don’t forget about your furry friends as your pets need to stay hydrated too.

Dehydration can have just as much of an effect on your pets as it does on you, so make sure you always leave them plenty of water.

Some methods of keeping your pet hydrated are more eco friendly than others. If you are on the go, try carrying water in stainless steel drink bottles, as these don’t generate unnecessary plastic waste – but you can still carry them with you when you’re out and about!

How to tell if your pet is dehydrated

If your dog or cat has sunken eyes and a dry mouth, he or she could be dehydrated. Other symptoms include lethargy, loss of appetite and depression.

How can I keep my pets hydrated?

Naturally, you want to prevent this problem from affecting your beloved pet, but you also want to make sure you are not sending waste unnecessarily to landfill.

Pets, and in particular dogs, can get hot and bothered when you take them out for a spot of exercise.

Remember that reusable bpa free water bottles dont  just have to be for humans! Load up a second bottle with H20 and carry it with you so you can give your thirsty pet a drink, sustainably.

Keep it separate from your own personal bottle, so you are not sharing with your pet. Perhaps get them in different colours or customise them so you know whose is whose.

Make filling up the extra bottle part of your dog walking routine. That way you won’t be tempted to pick up a disposable bottle to keep your pets hydrated – these often go straight to landfill.
