Minimise Waste In The Bathroom

We use up a ton of resources in the bathroom, yet we don’t tend to notice it as much as we do in other areas around the home.

However take a moment to think about how much time you spend in the bathroom. Having a shower, putting on your makeup, doing your hair, cleaning the room itself – all of these things take time, energy and resources.

First of all, think about your grooming products. Buy things like cotton tips and squares in bulk so that you aren’t using up so much packaging. Try to purchase products that have less of an environmental impact, such as biodegradable items.

You can even hunt down eco friendly products from the makeup and grooming sector, which are made from natural ingredients, by companies with an environmentally responsible ethos.

In addition, check out your cleaning products and how much of them you use. Often it doesn’t take much of a product to clean a surface. Use little, and choose environmentally friendly and natural brands, free from petrochemicals and harsh ingredients.

You can also make your own cleaning products from baking soda or vinegar mixed with water for the ultimate eco-friendly clean.

Remember that these days, many products come with refills available. Cleaning products and soaps in particular are easy to find refills for. That helps to minimise packaging wastage. Always recycle your empty containers.

Many items such as toilet paper and issues are made from recycled materials, so try to use these brands and then recycle any leftover packaging such as the tissue box or toilet roll.

All it takes is a little extra attention and care to minimise bathroom waste and have a sustainable and eco friendly bathroom.
